JIN YONG JEON, Ph.D, graduated from Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea, with a B.Sc. in Architectural Engineering. He then obtained a M.Sc. in building Science and a Ph.D. in Acoustics at the University of Sydney, Australia, and continued his post doctoral research there. He then extended his experimental research at the Institute of Technical Acoustics, University of Aachen, Germany and the University of Bath, England. Dr. Jeon is a Professor and Head of Department of Architectural Engineering at Hanyang University. He is currently a member of working groups ISO TC43 SC1(WG54 Soundscape) and SC2(WG18 Revision of ISO 140 series, WG19 Measurements). Dr. Jeon`s main professional expertise and research interests are in building acoustics, room acoustics, and environmental noise; with particular interests in the measurement and evaluation of floor impact sounds, in-situ measurement method of sound diffusion, sound quality analysis of noise, and evaluation of soundscapes. He is currently responsible for the acoustical design of the IFEZ(Incheon Free Economic Zone) Arts Center and the Seoul Performing Arts Center.
