By-laws for graduation from the Department of Architectural Engineering

  • 1. Prospective graduates of the Department of Architectural Engineering must meet the graduation requirements in Table 1 in addition to the graduation requirements of this university. In the case of transfer students, they must meet the graduation requirements in Table 2.

  • 2. If circumstances such as 1) abolition of subjects, 2) change of subject name, 3) change of classification of completion occur due to the reorganization of the curriculum, the obligation to complete the relevant subject shall follow the latest curriculum. However, if an alternative course is designated, it must be completed.

  • 2-1.Designation of alternative subjects.
Subjects Alternative subjects
Fluid and Thermodynamics (ARE 5010) Fluid and Thermal Dynamics for Buildings (ARE2022)
Electrical Circuit & Building Automation System (ARE4024) Electrical Circuit and Lighting System (ARE4030)
Statics (COE2003), Dynamics (COE2004) Engineering Mechanics (ARE2021)
Integrated Architectural Design 1 (ARE5012) Architectural Integrated Design 1 (ARE3080)

  • 2-2.Change of course division
    • Structural System in Architecture (ARE5028): Changed from 05-08 course "core major" to 09-12 course "extended major"
    • Introduction to Building Equipment (ARE2007): Changed from 05-08 course "core major" to 09-12 course "extended major"
  • 3. Subjects completed by other schools or departments (departments) after deliberation may be recognized as the core or major-in-depth subjects of the Department of Architecture and Engineering if there are reasonable reasons.
  • 4. If you apply for minor or multiple majors and give up ABEEK, you must complete the major core course you applied for, and you can receive a reduction or exemption of up to 6 credits. However, if you major in architectural engineering, you must complete all design courses.
    • Students majoring in architectural engineering must also take all design subjects (first and third graders).
    • The Adventure Design for the 2nd grade has been changed to an option, but it is up to the student to decide whether to take this course.
    • Currently, 6 credits are reduced for multiple majors whose original enemy is architectural engineering. In the case of different departments, school standard satisfaction + student-designated completion plan (including 4th-grade capstone PBL, thesis presentation) + design 1st and 3rd-grade classes.
